Children are naturally creative beings. They possess an innocent curiosity and a unique way of looking at the world around them. They are not afraid to ask questions, experiment, and try new things. Whether it's drawing, painting, ceramics or other form of art, children express themselves through their creativity in a way that is pure and unfiltered.
There are several forms of art, and one that has been garnering popularity over the years which is wild, big expressive art. This form of art is about breaking the rules, unleashing creativity, and creating art that is unique and eye-catching and doing what we found so much easier as children.
Wild, big, and wonderful expressive art is about being bold and daring in one’s art. Let's use bright and vibrant colours, bold brush strokes, and larger-than-life graphics or play with pattern and mark making. Painting big is about creating art that is impossible to ignore. Styles can be diverse, and can take on many different forms, from abstract painting to pattern play.
Delving into your inner artist to express emotions, with bold colours, shapes, and textures that stir up feelings of excitement in the viewer - is what's it's all about! Breaking free from creative limitations requires a willingness to experiment and take risks and we would love to guide you a few techniques to help you try out new techniques like, experiment with new mediums, or subjects to challenge yourself and break out of your comfort zone. Through our Wild Big + Wonderful workshop we will work together to bring fresh perspectives and inspire new ideas and help you gain confidence in your own process.
We will encourage you to push through your boundaries and help support you by looking at a variety of historical and contemporary visual artists, their processes, discuss and demonstrate their techniques with you, so that you trust and enjoy experimentation. The use of different materials will contribute to the overall boldness and risk-taking nature of the artwork.
Incorporating play and curiosity into our creative process as adults can help us reconnect with our inner child and tap into our innate creativity and celebrate individuality. It's never too late to reconnect with your artistic side and rediscover your creativity large scale. By setting aside time for creative pursuits, trying new activities, and connecting with other creative individuals, you can rebuild your confidence and artistic abilities, even in unconventional ways!
