About the Club

Artreach Studios' collaboration with National Saturday Club is a very exciting opportunity for creative Teenagers. Partnering industry, visual art education, the creative and cultural sector, the National Saturday Club brings together 13–16 year olds from across the UK to participate in engaging creative industry related workshops discovering subjects they love. This is a melting pot of ideas, creativity and innovation of the nation’s next generation.

As a powerful, countrywide network of shared knowledge and best practice, the model represents an exceptional opportunity to build young people’s creative skills and embolden them to become the next generation of innovators and imaginative thinkers. It also serves to connect educators and industry professionals so young people are better informed about the choices that exist for further education and rewarding careers.

Techniques and mediums include painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, sculpture, pottery and textiles is held at Artreach Studios and commences on 14th September from 10am-12pm.

Sessions will be held at Artreach Studios in Peel and led by Artists Colette Gambell (BA Hons) Fine Art, HND 3D Design Crafts), Kate Jerry (BA Hons) Fine Art with additional guest artists/creative industry specialists, science experts and innovative leaders over a 20 week term-time programme.

About The Masterclass Activity

Masterclass Giver: Cassie Quinn, Founder and Creative Director of CQ Studio.

More information about Cassie:Cassie Quinn is a multi-disciplinary designer, PhD Candidate in Regenerative Textiles at Living Systems Lab, Central Saint Martins and is the founder of CQ Studio, which she founded during her Master’s in Biodesign from Central Saint Martins. She conducts R&D of regenerative textiles for fashion. She focuses on post-industrial waste, regenerative plants, and post-consumer waste to demonstrate transforming waste into worth by developing innovative materials some of which include using food waste to clean wastewater to make plastic-free sequins. 

Title of Masterclass: Repeat Prints: An exploration of natural colours

Brief description of planned activity: In fashion design, one of the most common prints you might find on a garment is the repeat print. In this workshop we will guide students on how to create your own repeat print stencil to create your own bespoke fabric that can be used to create a garment. We will provide a range of natural colours for club members to create their print designs made from plants, food waste and seaweed!
