Our premises is large enough to accommodate and where relevant, divide mixed age groups and we have found this works well. Workshops can also be adapted age appropriately to gain the most for each group. If your child is registered to attend, spaces are automatically rolled over onto the next block, please let us know if your child wishes to stop the workshops. Artreach Studios provides fine art enrichment programs for children & young adults up to age 16 (age is a guide only) through age and developmentally appropriate classes and workshops.
Techniques and mediums include painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, ceramics, pot making, sculpture & more! Pottery: hand-building, pottery wheel and sculpting classes are held a minimum of 3 times each year.
The bright and open gallery/studio provides a lively space that is safe, engaging, organised and welcoming. In our studio, children can feel free and uninhibited to explore their creativity without worrying about making a mess.
OUR APPROACH
Is to promote each child's unique expression and discovery of the joy of art. We believe it is important to provide children with artistic freedom and latitude to make their own creative choices and work at their own pace, while downplaying the aesthetic value of the finished product, this is highly important to us, during these particular sessions.
Artreach Studios is committed to building positive self-awareness, innovative thinking, and the original expression of children. In our studio, we believe in cultivating the intrinsic creativity of every child. We highly regard the importance of providing all children with the opportunities to engage in imaginative art making, beyond the rote manufacturing of reproductions of predictable works of art, and instead, teach students to understand art making. Our specialised children’s visual art programming is designed for your child’s explorative engagement with a plethora of techniques and visual media that centres on originality.
We foster your child’s inventive mind through an open-ended experimentation and tutoring in drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and printmaking. In our community-rooted gallery/studio, we understand and believe in the importance of engaging children in visual art making as a conduit for building confidence, pride, and self-esteem through constructive expression.
Our professional teaching artists, renowned visiting artists, teach every child how to steer their own creative direction through visual art making. We are confidant that your child’s creative journey with us will help with their self-esteem and creativity at Artreach Studios.
PROGRAMMING
We offer a variety of children’s visual art programming that we design and implement for artists age five onwards.
Our programming goes beyond rote learning through monotonous masterpiece reproductions. At our studio, we focus on originality and the development of visual literacy. Regardless of the project, materials or medium we are working with, children are given topics and techniques to stimulate their imagination and help them to visualise their ideas.
Our introductions and demonstrations are a good guide and provide children with confidence and enough knowledge to get going on a project. We strive to stimulate their thoughts, feelings, and perception in a way that inspires and encourages each child to express their ideas visually, while offering individualised guidance during the creative process as needed.
Whilst we cannot guarantee a specific outcome, most importantly children will have been encouraged to experiment and play with different techniques (something they are usually very good at!) and most of the workshop time is taken with practical art making.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD IS ABSENT FROM A TERM WORKSHOP?
Unfortunately we are unable to cover every child’s absence, though we understand this is unavoidable on occasion.
All children are provided with a snack and drink at mid-point!
***If your child would like to begin mid term, please get in touch!
**Please note we have limited spaces on our monthly term time programme. We will send you a link to register a few days after registering for the first block.
